"It is not too much to require that what the wisest of mankind, those who are best entitled to trust their own judgment, find necessary to warrant their relying on it, should be submitted to by that miscellaneous collection of a few wise and many foolish individuals, called the public."

On Liberty
John Stuart Mill

Isn't it funny how things that are true in 1859 are still true today? We had to read a portion of this book for Philosophy, and I was so sturck with his commentary on the need for our opinions to be tested by discussing them with people of opposing viewpoints that I am going to write my final paper on him- in lieu of a final exam. I wish I had more time to write now, but once again I find myself with a ton of work to do. Also, my head kind of hurts- especially my jaw and chin- from where Grace accidentally whacked me when she jumped up and hit the top of her head on the bottom of mine. I really wish more than ever that she wasn't getting tall quite so quickly.
