The Naked Bowl

So, you sit down to a fun, albeit boring Super Bowl game (at least for the first half) and then you come to halftime, where suddenly you see Justin Timberlake rip part of Janet Jackson's costume off. and then, to top it off- a streaker runs through, dressed only in a g-string, and is taken out by a linebacker. It sounds like one of the weird dreams that I'm always having. I wonder sometimes what "fashion" will be like when my kids are growing up. why bother even wearing clothes? as I did when it was possible that al Gore could be president of this fair country I say, "I'm going to move to Canada!" At john's house we were talking about the whole janet thing, and then John says "I'm sure we sound like a bunch of old people." we probably did- longing for the good old days, but I don't really care, we really have become too desensitized to all of the crap that the secular culture is peddling to us. Just give me my little 3 year olds that want to be princesses when they grow up, and whos biggest conflict is that courtney didn't share a toy- there's my culture- teachers who laugh with you about something that jakob said- "BINGO" (and nathan singing along loudly and off key) for "It's getting hot in here, so take off..." I'd rather sound like old people than fit in with what the worl is passing off as entertainment. I admit that I watch movies that aren't rated "G," and I listen to music that isn't carried on wayfm, and I watch shows that aren't "Touched by an angel," but there has to come a point where you say, i cannot let that go for "artistic freedom" or "free speech," or changing trends and times- it has to be labeled as lewdness, perversion, degredation, sexism, objectifying women, raunchiness, and sin. I really thought that the whole janet thing had been an accident- that she had been dancing and had accidentally popped out or something, but then I find online that the whole thing was a publicity stunt, placed under the frame of "any publicity is good publicity." Canada I tell you- its the wave of the future. End of rant.
